GUEST BOOK
"A charming Gite set in tranquil surroundings. We were made to feel welcome on arrival, in fact before and during our holiday, we had great contact, clear directions to gite etc. The Gite is simply perfect, it is exactly as shown on web site pictures, full itinerary is there as described on Web site plus more! Both Lianne & Paul are friendly, have a wealth of knowledge, advice and experience of the surrounding area, nothing is too much to ask and yet they are super discreet as well. This made us relax more knowing if any problems, someone was close by. There is a huge trampoline with safety net, out door games, a fantastic above ground pool (water is literally crystal clear) which is looked after every day by Lianne which we didn't expect but how wonderful as many owners do not do this. Swings outside and so much area to play games, relax, clear skies, we saw a red blood moon( we've never seen so clear in the UK) a glow worm at night!! Our children were marvelled at this, the stars! I could have led all night gazing at them. We had such a fantastic time, so comfortable, we hardly left the Gite apart from shopping and to a local lake and river which is an absolute must, so beautiful!! We cooked each night in the well equipped kitchen, for 5 and no complaints from us at all in regard to the kitchen. We all literally chilled completely and had family time, something we've not done enough. We are booking as soon as we have guaranteed leave and still available! But have vowed to be more active on our return ha ha!! Oh! There are lots of super markets near by, lidl, eclerc, intermarch, Ruffec High Street shops/ market. Brilliant!!

The gite is fantastically comfy and well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing break, including one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in (and feather pillows)! There is plenty to keep young children entertained at the gite - both inside and out, and Paul and Liane are always generous with ideas and suggestions for things to do and places to visit. The surrounding area is very pretty and there is enough to do to keep little people entertained within 30 mins drive of the gite. The local town - only 5 mins drive away - has everything you need and there are lots of other pretty surrounding villages which are worth a visit. We had a fantastic time, and will hopefully be back again the future to enjoy ourselves once again." The Prosser's, Cambridge
"The Gite was charming with all we could need. The hosts, Liane and Paul were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.
They also left us to our own devices and respected our own space, which was refreshing. The children chose to play in the pool with the hosts' own children which was great and gave me and my husband some time out to chill with a good book and the lovely French wine. Such a peaceful and restful surroundings and so little light pollution we could watch shooting stars with ease on those balmy nights. We will come again. The Perry's, Eastbourne
"We were are met with a warm welcome to this clean and fresh rural retreat. The bright and airy rooms were homely and comfortable. The large garden was the ideal place for our two children to play and explore. We ate every meal 'al fresco' with views across neighbouring fields willing deer to show themselves from woodland, they did oblige once or twice! Although rural it is situated within a stone's throw from the N10 autoroute, making it easy to find. The thriving town of Ruffec is just a few minutes drive, with it's covered market, shops and cafés. We also went canoeing from here, which was an inexpensive, fun way to spend a few hours messing about on the River Charente" The Aplins, Southampton
"The owners were very helpful, and went out of their way to provide toys for my 2 year old to play with...even putting a dolls house and toy kitchen in the gite which was a life saver! The trampoline was also fab as was the pool. Plenty to do around the area, the owners were again very knowledgable about this. Recommended for a peaceful stay" The Pikes, Wiltshire
"We had a great family holiday here. Liane and her family were SO welcoming and she had even left us a few provisions and some little pots of homemade jam (yum) when we arrived. Our children had fun in the splash pool, garden and trampoline and made friends with our hosts' son.
The gite is well equipped and comfortable and the location is very handy (though you do need a car) being just a 5 min drive to Ruffec with all your shopping needs covered and easy to get onto the motorway for day trips. Really recommend Vallee des Singes (Monkey Valley) and a trip to La Rochelle where there is a great aquarium that is open until 11pm in the summertime. We also did some ceramic painting which made a nice cool interlude on a very hot afternoon - Liane has the details - and you get a unique souvenir to take home of course. A lovely area to visit, really comfy accommodation (2 en suites makes life easy) and super hosts." The Wildred's, Wales
"Thank you all for a fantastic holiday. It was our first visit to France and you all helped to make it memorable. We will always remember your friendliness and kindness. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable. The boys
particularly enjoyed the pool and the trampoline and I think made good friends with your children, Ciar and Aston. The area around is fantastic, very picturesque and everyone we met was very friendly. The kayaking in Ruffec was brilliant with a very knowledgeable and informative representative of the local club. The chateau at La Rochefoucauld and chocolate factory is great as was the international music festival at Confolens. We highly recommend a stay here and we didn’t want to return home." "The accommodation is very well-equipped and extremely comfortable, and the peaceful surroundings are wonderful. It felt like a home from home, and the splash-pool’s excellent. The owners went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we wanted and could not have been more obliging. Thanks very much for an excellent week. We can definitely recommend to everyone."
